Scything course

Delighted to hold a special work party and welcome Andi who worked with six volunteers showing us how to use scythes safely and effectively. Using funding from our meadows development project, we have purchased three scythes and sharpening equipment for use on the Field grassland area.

Making use of their new skills, the group met again on 31 July to scythe a further area of the meadow. The large area of grassland will be mown by tractor later in the year.
