Butterfly shelter

13 June 2026

Another lovely day on the field - an old chest of drawers and two pallets cleverly converted into a butterfly hibernation shelter, whilst others carried out some plant surveys, noted lots of pollinators and observed a smooth newt in the pond. We noticed berries growing on the young hawthorn in the hedgerow, too - a wonderful food source for lots of wildlife. All topped off with a well earned rest.
